How did this all begin?Students began this journey by recognizing the problem. We have a birdhouse but no birds! Students started brainstorming ways we could attract these animals. I thought this would be a great opportunity to challenge our class with our first PBL.
Getting ready for our field experienceOur class learned the importance of research and how it was going to help us solve our problem. We brainstormed different ways we could gain information. Students explored websites and books prior to our Cosley Zoo trip. As a class, we came up with specific questions students would ask the bird experts. CollaborationAfter our field experience, we plan to collaborate in groups to develop possible solutions to our birdhouse dilemma.
PresentationsStudents will present their ideas to a panel of adult experts. With help from the panel we hope to implement an idea that will attract birds to our area! |
